7- 55-57 Chevy's (Shoebox)
Commonly referred to Shoeboxes due to their inherit shape. Chevrolet was making a mark on the auto industry with their line up. NASCAR and Drag Racers had a huge presence with these vehicles which were produced for three years!.
4- RACE CAR
Cars that are not street legal. Run at Drag Strips, Stock Car Tracks, (Dirt or Asphalt), SCCA, Vintage, Open Wheel or Autocross. Cars with Roll Bars that ocassionally run at off road facilities come under this group.
1- Street Machine
Street legal cars are in this class. Must be street driven! Muscle cars, hot rods etc will be placed in this category.
2- STREET ROD:
Roadsters, Coupes and Sedans are in this class.
Open wheel or fendered cars from the past. The 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe gained great popularity after the movie "American Graffitti" came out. Several songs were written about this iconic style of car.
5- CORVETTE
Chevrolet began production in 1953 and has continued it's line even up to today. In 1983 GM did not release a Corvette, the only year this occured. A fiberglass body with a vast amount of options have made a long lasting impression to those who own this vehicle.
6- MUSTANG
Ford began production in 1964. The line up of cars were mild to wild. They were used in several forms of racing and hold their value very well when equipped with special options. Have you driven a FORD lately?.
8- EXOTIC
Cars such as Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Kit Cars, Shelby Cobra's, Factory Five Kit Cars, and other various other manufactures of prominent cars are in this class.
9- CUSTOM: SEMA cars,
highly customized fall
into this group. Other radical
cars will also fall in here.
10-CLASSIC: cars that are
original in appearance,
number matching,
restored to original
specifications.
Car Classes for the Jax Hot Rod Autorama are diverse and exciting. Each class winner will receive a cash bonus along with a personalized unique trophy for winning that class. Judges will have their score sheets turned in prior to 1:00 pm for final point evaluation and determination of winners. Good luck to everyone who entered this competition.
3- PICKUP TRUCK
Factory trucks or highly modified Pickups will be in this class. Great paint jobs and lots of history have made this a favorite for many enthusiats Hauling the mail!
